June 26, 2014: Through the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD), which is the Navy’s source for a full range of innovative products and services that provide complete training solutions, SSE has been awarded the P-8A Maintenance Training Electronic Classrooms (MTEC) Contract. The P-8A MTEC is the computer-based training system that supports P-8A classroom training activities conducted at the Naval Air Station (NAS) in Jacksonville, Florida. The P-8A MTEC is one of several media used for P-8A instruction that includes instructor-led training, interactive courseware, desktop trainers, part-task trainers, and simulators.
With this $800K contract, SSE will provide program management, systems engineering, materials, services, equipment, testing, technical, logistics, and clerical assistance. Personnel in SSE’s branch office in Jacksonville will fulfill this effort over a period of 8 months at NAS Jacksonville.
This is the third award to SSE within the last six months, including two Task Orders under the NAWCTSD Training Data Products Contract (TDPC ) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ); the first, a $10.3 million contract for training support involving the Lockheed P-3 family of aircraft and the Boeing P-8 Poseidon aircraft and weapons system, and the second, a $4 million contract to provide training support for the E-2 /C-2 Fleet Readiness Squadron Training System, the E-2 Air Combat Training System, and the Landing Signal Officer School.
